Primary

I did not think much of this film after my first screening of it. Admittedly I watched rather quickly and did not take notes. Originally, I thought it to be a so-so piece. I did not think it broke many boundaries and I saw not much in the way of organization and motivation of shots.

I think what grabbed my attention the second time was when JFK was shaking the hands of his audience after a brief speech. The camera seemed to slip its attention ever so slightly to subjects other than the candidates. Emphasis began being placed more on the people being addressed. The camerawork adds, implicitly, a tone of importance onto the people, and lessens the significance of the actual speeches and politicians.
