Punishment Park

Punishment Park worked on a very profound level. The film had a very real feel to it during the interogation scenes. The board of directors and the people being judged gave great very believable performances. The park scenes however, breaks the audience out of the realism of the film. For example, there waas a camera crew wwalking with the park prisoners and yet they seemed to have set shots of the prisoners walkingtoward them in the distance and set up shots that clearly took time to establish, yet the crew was on foot with the prisoners. Also, if the prisoners were on the run for their lives they would hardly have time to sit and discuss with the crew. The film as a whole works with the juxtaposing of dialogue in the courtroom and the images of the runners and provides a great look at the attitudes of the time.
