Punishment park does awesome with no budget

The fact that watkins has the guts to show the world for what it is something to be commended on. The films that I have seen have been harsh commentaries on the world that we live in today, tomorrow and of yesterday. He blatantly points out what is wrong, and perhaps even the reasons for as to why the problems are not being fixed. Now that's all fine and good, but what people seem to forget the most is how little money watkins was able to make these films for. When one compares them to hollywood (or european) features they have the same impact (if not more of an impact) and they are made for a fraction of the price. Punishment park. This was a film that was made for fifrty thousand dollars. A feature length film about a fascist police state that is filled with corruption, and allows the hunting of humans. Take another movie that was about hunting humans: Hard target starring jean claude van damme and directed by john woo. This film cost fifteen million dollars to make, and it was horrible. Take another movie about fascist states: V for vendetta cost fifty four million dollars to make. Now v for vendetta was not horrible, but if I want to watch a movie that scares me about what happens when governments take to much control, I'm going to watch punishment park first. Both of these action film were made a few years later than punishment park, but even with inflated money, punishment park still would have been made for millions upon millions less thanwhat these two films were made for. Watkins either has a very good accountant, or he knows how to use every dollar to the fullest extent of what it is worth.
